Top officials from leading regulatory agencies in Nigeria are scheduled to lead discussions at World Consumer Rights Day 2026.
Among them are the Director General of Standard Organisations of Nigeria (SON), Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwunonso Okeke, who is expected to deliver a paper at the event scheduled for March 13.
Others billed to speak at the event are officials from other regulatory agencies like the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), alongside renowned consumer rights advocate, Mrs. Sola Salako-Ajulo.
With the theme for this year is: “Safe Product, Confident Consumer”, this year’s event, organised by the Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria (BJAN), is scheduled to hold at the Ososa factory of Rite Foods Limited, in Ogun State.
BJAN Chairman, Daniel Obi, said the event is designed to provide a robust discussion among regulators, industry stakeholders, and consumers, with a view to enhancing consumer confidence resulting from safe product consumption.
The World Consumers Rights Day is a global event celebrated annually on March 15, to draw attention to the plights of consumers.
